Shoes in the House

You come home from work or school, you’ve had a long day, you make your way into the house, and just casually go about doing whatever you want around the house. Perhaps you go grab a quick snack to eat away your sorrows or jump on your bed and scream into your pillow. Wait. Hold up. Just one second. If you come from an Asian household you may be cringing right now at one crucial detail. Said person never took off their shoes and put on their very own pair of plastic slippers your parents got at the Asian convenience store around the corner in bulk. You know, I’m not gonna judge the Americans out there that wear their shoes all around their house, but I am. The shoes you wear outdoors, whether you regularly are going to work or going to school, in fact, anywhere you go, the ground you walk on has who knows what. Some cities aren’t exactly the cleanest and what about when you walk through grass or dirt? The moment you step inside the house, you bring all of that inside and ruin the floor you just mopped or the carpet you just vacuumed. You may be coming home tired, but it takes 2 seconds for you to take off your shoes and keep your house clean. For those who want to argue it keeps their feet warm in the winter, go get yourself a pair of fluffy slippers if you must and put on some socks. No excuses.
