Hello everyone, welcome to the “first” official post, currently it is February 1st, which means 4 more days before Lunar New Years. Lunar New Years is like American new year and it has pretty much the same concept. As the clock strikes midnight, another year starts for you to make new resolutions and to start a new you. One of my favorite traditions in Lunar New Year is getting red envelopes. These red envelopes contain money, which everyone likes. Normally the eldest give these envelopes to their children and so on. The attire usually depends on how hardcore the family goes all out on new years but typically for families, they just keep the colors to red and yellow if they can. Red and Yellow represents the good luck colors. A big decoration for Lunar New Years are these yellow flowers called Yellow Apricot Blossoms.
Some of the food that we eat to celebrate consists of sticky rice, banana leaf covered items, and special candies that are meant to be eaten only at New Years. Just like American New Years, Lunar New Years also has good firework shows. Overall, Lunar New Years is a big celebration done in many Asian countries and it gives us the opportunity to have a big family gathering and welcome the good luck and fortune for the year to come. I hope you all enjoyed reading this and Happy Lunar New Year!
